This is a 24 hour course which provides students with the fundamentals of
rope rescue. The class consists of one day of classroom instruction followed by two days of practical field exercise. Students learn and practice all areas of rope rescue in a low-angle environment and are trained in such skills as:
preplanning and size-up of rope rescue operations
knots, hitches, and anchor systems
belay operations
ascending and descending lines
mechanical advantage systems
raising anil lowering systems
patient packaging & litter attending
Students leam how to safely navigate low-angle or over-the-bank rescue
situations and assist rescuers in high-angle environments.
